Who we are

GIA members are professionals who guarantee high-quality touristic services.

The Tourist Guide is the professional figure who conveys the image of a city and its territory, enhancing the monumental, cultural, landscape and social aspects.

The Tour Leader assists those who enjoy an organised trip, striving for the success of the tour and the harmonious collaboration with local guides.

The Tourist Interpreter is the linguistic mediator between the final client and the local guide who does not speak the language of the group.

In particular, GIA:

  • Works through constant communications with the local institutions and with ANGT (National Tourist Guide Association, based in Rome) to protect the professions represented, according to the laws in force
  • Defines the reference fees for all the professions represented in each province, to protect professional dignity
  • Interacts with various touristic and cultural service providers (hotels, transport companies, museums, associations ...) to contribute to the creation of an integrated tourism system that can improve the quality of the overall offer of the territory
  • Contributes to the promotion of the cultural and touristic offer of the Provinces and of the Piedmont Region
  • Organises the International Tourist Guide Day in various cities of the Piedmont in collaboration with ANGT and WORLD FEDERATION OF TOURIST GUIDE ASSOCIATION
  • Organises refresher courses and pre-visits for its members, encouraging continuous and high-quality training
